🏃♂️ Antrim Coast Half Marathon Returns for 2027
📅 Sunday 29 August 2027 | ⏰ 11:00am start | 📍 Larne, Co. Antrim
One of the biggest dates on the Northern Ireland running calendar is back, and it's shaping up to be bigger than ever! The Condor Executive Antrim Coast Half Marathon returns to Larne on the August Bank Holiday weekend, and entries are open right now.
After a record-breaking 2026 that saw 7,000 runners descend on the Antrim Coast from more than 40 countries, organisers James and Ruth McIlroy are wasting no time building on that momentum. From a standing start in 2020 to genuine global stature in under a decade — 2027 looks set to carry that surge even further. 🌍
🏁 Still the Fastest Course Around
The route isn't changing, and there's no reason it should be — this is one of the quickest, flattest half marathon courses anywhere in the UK or Ireland. Starting near Larne Town Centre, the out-and-back course sweeps north through Ballygally before looping via Croft Road, Ballymullock Road and Cairncastle Road, then returning along the coast to the finish. 🌊
The record books prove just how fast it is. Antrim Coast currently holds both the men's and women's UK & Ireland All-Comers records: 🇰🇪 Kenya's Daniel Mateiko clocked 58:36 in 2023, while 🇪🇹 Ethiopia's Yalemzerf Yehualaw ran 1:04:22 in 2022. With the elite fields this race keeps attracting, don't be surprised if both marks come under serious pressure again in 2027! ⚡
💷 Entry Is Open — Get In Early
2027 entry is live now, with early entry pricing set at:
🇬🇧🇮🇪 UK & Ireland runners: £39
🌍 International runners: £43
Prices only go one way from here, and with this event routinely selling out well in advance, there's every reason to lock in your place now. Alongside the standard Half Marathon, there's also a Charity Half Marathon, an Elite Half Marathon, and a 5K race on the same weekend. 🏅
📈 A Race on the Rise
Since launching in 2020, Antrim Coast has become one of only two UK & Ireland races to hold World Athletics Elite Label status — a genuine mark of world-class credibility. The 2026 edition was broadcast globally through World Athletics and across North America via FloSports, putting Northern Ireland's running scene firmly on the world stage. 🎥 Every year this race raises the bar, and every year it delivers.
If 2027 follows the trend, expect another huge elite field, a packed field of amateur runners chasing PBs, and another unforgettable day on the Antrim Coast! 🎉
